Eight years ago, WM Executive Director Brendan Kea Eight years ago, WM Executive Director Brendan Kearney shared this quick video showing how snow-covered curb cuts can turn a simple trip down the block into a barrier — especially for people using wheelchairs, walkers, strollers, or anyone with limited mobility.

Unfortunately, it’s still just as relevant today.

Sidewalk and curb ramp clearing remains an issue in communities throughout the Commonwealth, making winter travel unsafe and inaccessible for many neighbors.

Keeping curb cuts and sidewalks clear isn’t just courtesy — it’s access, safety, and equity.
