Event: Beat the Bay State
We hope you’ll join us for our 5th Annual Beat the Bay State Challenge: November 1-30, 2024. Over 550 people took part last year. REGISTER NOW.
Circle the 900 miles of the Commonwealth with the “Beat the Bay State” Team Challenge!
- Month-long virtual challenge (Nov 1st-30th)
- $20 entry per person
- No limits on team size, you can tackle the Challenge by yourself or with 100 friends!
- Walk/run wherever you are
- As you log miles, your team will move along a route of the 900 mile perimeter of Massachusetts. Can you do it more than once??
- Earn fun badges showing your progress as you travel around the state
- Compete against other teams to see who can:
- Build the biggest team!
- Raise the most money!
- Finish the Challenge first!
- Prizes for top performers
- Raise money for a fantastic organization and get some exercise while you do it!

Thank you to all the participants of our third annual “Beat the Bay State” Team Challenge! We had a record number of both participants and teams this year, so give yourselves a well deserved round of applause!

2021 Recap
Thank you to all the participants in our second “Beat the Bay State” Team Challenge! 540 people joined us and formed 32 teams!
Together we ran/walked for 51,135 miles. That’s over 13,000 miles more than we did in 2020. 22 teams finished the Challenge and 216 people logged 100+ miles. To everyone who participated, give yourselves a well deserved round of applause!
“Beat the Bay State” is a way for people of all ages to participate in outdoor physical activity by walking or running over the 30 days of the competition. It also made it possible for people to stay socially connected via something other than a Zoom meeting!

2020 Details
Thank you to all the participants in our first ever “Beat the Bay State” Team Challenge during the month of November 2020. Over 450 people took part across 31 teams! The challenge was a way for people of all ages to participate in outdoor physical activity of walking and running over the 30 days of the competition. It also made it possible for teams to stay socially connected and have something fun and different to talk about when confronted with another Zoom meeting!
