Walking around Yarmouth – Route 28

WalkBoston participated in a MassDOT Road Safety Audit yesterday on Route 28 in Yarmouth. Route 28 is a heavily utilized corridor for people walking and biking on the Cape. People walking on Route 28 must navigate a poorly accessible and incomplete sidewalk network, high vehicle traffic volumes, frequent curb cuts, and low visibility crosswalks. The group discussed short-, mid-, and long-term improvements to make the area safer for all road users. Plans are being developed to improve pedestrian and bicycle amenities along Route 28 of West Yarmouth.
